Most incidents exploit known flaws: weak passwords, unpatched systems, phishing messages. The measures below are accessible to any organization and greatly reduce exposure.

1. Enable multi-factor authentication

A stolen password is no longer enough if a second factor is required. Start with e-mail, remote access and administrator accounts.

2. Update systematically

Security patches close flaws that attackers quickly exploit. Inventory your equipment and schedule updates for systems, software and network devices.

3. Back up and test restoration

A backup isolated from the main network is the best answer to ransomware. Check regularly that it really restores.

4. Limit privileges

Each user should only access what they need. Separate administration accounts from everyday accounts and remove access for people who have left the organization.

5. Train your teams

The phishing email remains the most common entry point. Short, repeated awareness sessions change behavior lastingly.

6. Monitor and know how to respond

Detecting quickly limits the damage. A security operations center (SOC) analyzes events continuously and triggers the response; failing that, define at least an alert procedure and an emergency contact.

Our Cyber-security and SOC/NOC teams can assess your current level and propose a progressive improvement plan.
